“Over the last 20 years or so I have worked out using a variety of methods: at home with my own equipment, at 2 private fitness centers, at 2 town sponsored fitness centers and p90x. During 2013 and 2104 life got in the way of working out and my weight and waist line grew and my energy level declined. So, after the holidays my wife and I looked at each other and said, ‘Let’s get in better shape!.’ This time though I was strongly leaning towards working with a trainer and ran into Chas.
From the first meeting with him I picked up on his vast fitness knowledge, his passion for training and his intensity. Amy, Post-Surgery Injury Recovery
“I started seeing Charles Rigby a couple years ago when I began experiencing body aches and pains due to past injuries. At that time, my right shoulder had a partial rotator cuff tear and my left knee had a partial meniscus tear, both of which my orthopedic surgeon felt may benefit from physical therapy and working with a highly skilled personal trainer for strength training in order to avoid surgery.
After some research, I chose to work with Charles as my personal trainer. I liked Charle’s expertise, knowledge and personality. He’s a sharp man that has an education beyond most personal trainers and I really appreciated that. He customizes training to his clients specific needs and desires. He doesn’t have a one-size fits all training approach. He truly listens. I also liked Charles’s personality. He’s approachable, easy to talk to, calm and humble. He’s not the ego-centric, neurotic or the annoying cheer-leader type trainer that you often see in a gym. He’s very professional, proficient and personable.
After training with Charles for a few months, my right shoulder and left knee were completely pain free. I continued to train on my own and felt great. I was relieved that I had successfully avoided surgery. Then, about 6 months later, I had a bad fall on my right shoulder and knew I had injured it all over again. I began seeing Charles again, hoping strength training would work. Unknown to me at that time, I had actually injured it so badly that I now had a full thickness rotator cuff tear. I should have gone back to my orthopedic surgeon for a new MRI, but due to being physically strong, I was able to push thru any discomfort with ease and never suspected anything was seriously injured.
Another year went by before my shoulder started giving me a clue that something was wrong so I then got a new MRI preformed. My orthopedic surgeon was AMAZED. Not only did I have a full thickness tear, my supraspinatus tendon had atrophied a couple inches and surgery was imminent. He was shocked as to the strength of my biceps and triceps and stated it the only reason my shoulder was functioning with full range of motion. The fact that I wasn’t in constant excruciating pain was amazing to him.
I hope to continue training with Charles after my surgeon gives me the clear. He’s really been an asset in my life for overall health and wellness. I highly recommend him to anyone.”

“I started my transformation with Chas and Rigby Fitness at the first of September 2015. My goals were to be healthier and fit and to have more energy and basically to feel better. I had joined a gym but was completely intimidated and didn’t like that I couldn’t get anyone to show me how to use the equipment and machines without paying an outrageous personal training fee. I had tried various workout routines at home and on my own and always wound up hurting myself and not seeing any real lasting changes. I wanted to be fit but had no idea how to start. When I started with Chas I couldn’t do a sit up. I couldn’t do a push-up. I was tired all the time and had a carbohydrate heavy diet.
Chas worked with me very patiently. He always encouraged me and made me feel like I could do anything he asked me to do and when I struggled he modified exercises until I could do what he originally asked. Chas helped me to understand how the foods I put in my body affected how I felt and how my body used those foods. He helped me to feel more confident and gave me challenging but totally doable workout routines to do as my homework between our sessions. 6 months later I was down 26 pounds and had 10% less body fat. I can do sit ups, push ups and all kinds of exercises that I never even dared to try! I can lift weights (which I really enjoy) and am not afraid of a tough cardio routine.
I no longer hesitate when a friend asks me to go on a hike or my grandkids want me to get on the floor and play with them. I sleep better, have more energy and most of all I am my confident self again.
